Lucknow. Many financial assistance schemes are being run by the government for girl students pursuing higher education in Uttar Pradesh. If a daughter is doing graduation or is preparing to take new admission in college, then she can reduce the expenses of her studies by taking advantage of these scholarship schemes.
The objective of these schemes of the Central and State Government is to help the daughters of economically weaker families to continue further studies. Through these scholarships, financial assistance is provided for fees and expenses related to studies.
1.You will get benefit from UP Post Matric Scholarship
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme of Uttar Pradesh Government is very popular among girl students. This scheme is operated through the Department of Social Welfare, Backward Class Welfare and Minority Welfare. The benefit of this scheme can be availed by those girl students living in Uttar Pradesh who are pursuing graduation in any recognized college or institute. In this, assistance is provided to girl students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Economically Weaker General Category (EWS).
2. Daughters can also get help from UGC schemes.
Many scholarship schemes for girl students are also run by the University Grants Commission (UGC). These include assistance schemes for single daughters and girl students from economically weaker sections. Applications for these schemes are released from time to time through the National Scholarship Portal.

AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme can prove helpful for girl students who are pursuing engineering, architecture or other technical courses. The Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) of the Central Government also helps in the education of daughters. If a student’s mother or father has been associated with the Central Armed Police Forces, Assam Rifles or Police Department and fulfills the eligibility, then she can apply for this scheme. Under this scheme, scholarships are given for higher education.
