Ram temple offering theft case remains in the headlines. The investigation of the case has intensified. After the FIR was registered, the police has expanded the scope of investigation. Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, was interrogated for about 3 hours. During interrogation, Champat Rai was questioned about the arrangements for management of offerings, administrative decisions, responsibilities of employees and disposal of complaints..

Champat Rai can be summoned again
If sources are to be believed, Champat Rai has not been able to answer many questions during interrogation. Police have issued notices to about 70 people including officials, employees and others associated with the trust. The investigating police are looking into the management of offerings, appointments, monitoring system and banking process. Officials have told him that he can be called again if needed. The investigation team says that they are now trying to find out how the theft of offerings took place in the temple despite such tight security.

Notice sent to 70 people
If police sources are to be believed, notices have been sent to about 70 people including former Trust member Anil Mishra and officer Gopal Rao. These include officers, employees and other related people associated with the trust. Apart from this, investigation is going on to record the statements of about 140 witnesses. The investigation team is also interrogating five to six employees of the temple. 30 people who did the counting and handled the security arrangements are being interrogated. Officials believe that without understanding the entire process, accurate pictures of the theft cannot be revealed.

What was asked from Champat Rai
According to sources, during interrogation, the investigating officers asked Champat Rai how the system of monitoring the offerings was operated. Who was responsible for the employees? If any complaint was received earlier, how was it resolved? Sources claim that Champat Rai said during interrogation that he had no role in the incident of theft of offerings. He said that as soon as he came to know about the incident, he intensified the investigation. He admitted that the overall responsibility for the safe management of the offerings rested with the Trust.

During interrogation, he was also questioned about the appointments of employees. The investigating officers tried to find out on what basis responsibilities were given to relatives and acquaintances. On this he said that needy people have been given opportunities. Not only he but other members of the Trust have also played a role in the appointments process.
