Lucknow, 2 July. Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 has started from today. About 20 lakh candidates will appear in this important examination to be held from 2nd to 4th July at 955 examination centers in 60 districts of the state. The state government has made extensive security arrangements to make the examination completely transparent and cheating free. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is monitoring the entire examination system.
Strict security arrangements for UPTET exam
Police forces have been deployed at all the examination centers to conduct the UPTET exam in a fair and safe manner. Every center is being monitored through CCTV cameras, while continuous monitoring is also being done from the control room. In view of the incidents of paper leaks in recent years, the government does not want to take any risk this time. This is the reason why Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is keeping an eye on the examination system and is continuously giving necessary instructions to the officials. Intensive checking of candidates is being done at the examination centres. As per security rules, bangles, rings, bangles and other metal jewelery are being removed at the gate itself.
Candidates are allowed to take only the following items inside the examination centre:
1-Admit Card
2-Valid photo identity card
3-Three passport size photographs
4-Pen and pencil
Apart from this, mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, digital watches, goggles and other electronic devices are completely banned. If a candidate brings a water bottle, it should be a transparent and unlabelled white bottle.
Examination will be held at 955 centers in 60 districts.
UPTET 2026 exam is being conducted in different shifts on July 2, 3 and 4. About 20 lakh candidates will appear for the examination at 955 examination centers set up in 60 districts of the state. These candidates also include about 1.75 lakh teachers who are currently teaching in schools, but have not been able to pass TET yet.
It is necessary to pass TET after the order of Supreme Court
According to the instructions of the Supreme Court, no teacher can hold the post of teacher permanently without passing TET. There are about two and a half lakh teachers appointed before 2010 in Uttar Pradesh who will have to pass the TET exam within the stipulated period to continue their jobs.
Teachers teaching will get ample opportunities
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently directed the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) to provide adequate opportunities to already serving teachers to qualify TET, so that no teacher has to face difficulty merely due to lack of opportunity.
The biggest concern of the candidates is that the paper should not be leaked.
The candidates who reached the examination centers expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements. However, most of the candidates say that their biggest concern is about paper leak. Candidates say that due to the strict arrangements made by the government, it is expected that this time the examination will be completely fair and their hard work will not go in vain.
