Vaibhav Suryavanshi can debut in the second T20, big update from Manchester
A big update is coming out from Manchester. Vaibhav Suryavanshi may get a chance to debut. The second match of the 5-match series between India and England is to be played today (July 4) at the Old Trafford Ground in Manchester. The journalists who went with Team India to cover this series have indicated that Vaibhav can be included in the playing XI. Young sensation Vaibhav has been seen on the bench till now. If he gets a chance to play today, he will become the youngest Indian player to debut in international cricket.
…So Sanju will be out?
Abhishek Sharma or Sanju Samson will have to go out if Vaibhav is fed. Abhishek had played a blazing half-century in the last match. In such a situation, their chances of sitting outside are less. Sanju can be dropped. He is continuously flopping. Sanju had scored only 5 runs in the first T20 match against Ireland. After this, he returned to the pavilion on a gold duck in the second match. Jai Mundhra did it both the times.
After failing in Ireland, Sanju did not bat even in the first T20 match against England. He was able to score only 1 run after playing 7 balls. Sanju may have been the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2026 but considering the way he has struggled in seaming conditions, he may be dropped.

The sword also hung on Tilak Verma
Questions are also being raised on the place of Team India’s vice-captain Tilak Verma. Tilak did play a half-century in the second T20 match against Ireland but could not lead India to victory. His slow batting is being criticized. Tilak had scored only 19 runs in 21 balls in the first match in Ireland. Even in the first match against England, only 13 runs were scored in 13 balls from his bat. If Sanju is not out, then Vaibhav can be brought into the playing XI by dropping Tilak.
