Alpha Box Office Collection Day 5: Alia Bhatt, Sharvari film sees midweek jump, near Rs 50 crore mark

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha witnessed a modest recovery at the domestic box office on its fifth day, offering relief after a sharp decline in collections on Monday.

The YRF Spy Universe film registered a midweek jump on Tuesday, taking its total India earnings closer to the ₹50 crore mark.

Film Registers Midweek Recovery

After collecting ₹34 crore net during its opening weekend, Alpha witnessed a significant slowdown on Monday, earning ₹3.85 crore net—a drop of more than 70% from its weekend performance.

However, the film bounced back on Tuesday by collecting an estimated ₹4.25 crore net, marking around a 10% increase over Monday’s figures, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.

Domestic Collection Nears ₹50 Crore

With its Day 5 earnings, Alpha has collected an estimated ₹42.10 crore net at the Indian box office.

The film is now expected to cross the ₹50 crore mark before the end of its first week if it maintains steady collections over the coming days. Trade analysts believe its second weekend performance will be crucial in determining its overall box office run.

Break-Even Target Still Ahead

According to industry estimates, Alpha will need to earn more than ₹100 crore net in India and around ₹150 crore gross worldwide to recover its production and distribution costs.

Its performance in the coming week will determine whether the film can achieve those benchmarks.

About the Film

Directed by Shiv Rawail and written by Uday Chopra, Alpha is the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. The action thriller stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, with Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor playing pivotal characters. The film also features a cameo by Hrithik Roshan, reprising his role from the War franchise.

While the film’s action sequences have received praise, reviews have been mixed, with criticism directed at its storyline and emotional depth. Sharvari’s performance has largely been appreciated, while reactions to Alia Bhatt’s performance have been divided.
