The residential sales figures for January-June 2026 were released in an online press conference. According to these figures, premium homes priced above Rs 1 crore accounted for 54 per cent of total sales, while the share of middle income and affordable homes fell to 46 per cent. According to the data, residential sales rose slightly to 171,471 units during the period compared to 170,201 units in the same period last year. These eight cities include Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
Detailing the data, Knight Frank said that all cities except Delhi-NCR saw an increase in house sales. Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) saw a seven per cent year-on-year decline in sales.
According to the data, sales of affordable homes priced below Rs 50 lakh fell by 15 per cent to 32,063 units during January-June as against 37,796 units in the same period last year. The affordable housing segment accounted for 19 percent of the total sales. Sales of houses priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 crore fell by five per cent to 46,490 units.
