‘We Were Liars’ season 2 gets exciting update

We Were Liars season two just got an exciting update.

Fans can be thrilled to learn that the Prime Video series which won hearts of many and was based on suspense novel by E. Lockhart has officially began production.

Taking to Instagram on July 9, the streamer shared a carousel of the cast announcing the update.

“Back on Beechwood. #WeWereLiars Season 2 is now in production,” the caption read.

The post saw Emily Alyn Lind, who starred as Cadence Sinclair and Joseph Zada, who took on the role of Johnny Sinclair, in a warm embrace. Followed by the three matriarchs of the family Candice King (Bess Sinclair), Mamie Gummer (Carrie Sinclair), and Caitlin FitzGerald (Penny Sinclair).

The final picture from the post included Joseph and Rahul Kohli, who played Ed Patil.

Fans took their reactions to the comments, with one referring to the heartbreaking ending for season one, saying, “I’m not ready for crying again.”

“I’m actually so excited you have no idea ugh,” another said.

“Take it easy on us this time please,” a third wrote.

As to what fans can expect from the upcoming season; based on Lockhart’s prequel Family of Liars, Season 2 centers on the three Sinclair sisters, who are the aunts and mothers of the titular liars introduced in the original book.

Emily Alyn Lind reprises her role as Cadence Sinclair, who narrated both the original We Were Liars novel and Season 1, returning once again to the family’s island off the East Coast.

“As she digs deeper into family secrets, she learns about the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999; a summer rife with first love, rivalry, and even murder. In flashbacks, we see Carrie (Lapaine), Penny (Roorbach), and Bess (Wolfe) navigate their own teenage summer, as they come to terms with their past in the present day.” the logline reads.

The upcoming season brings on Once Upon a Time star Josh Dallas as Young Harris and Peyton List (The Rookie) will take on the role of Young Tipper.

The younger versions of the Sinclair sisters will be played by Madison Wolfe (True Detective) as Young Bess, Elysia Roorbach as Young Penny and Parker Lapaine as Young Carrie.

Costa D’Angelo (Tell Me Lies) takes on the role of Pfeff, whose full name is Lawrence Pfeffernan in Family of Liarswhere he is commonly known by his nickname.

However, there is no confirmation of a release date yet.
