Bank Holiday Alert: Banks will remain closed in many states next week, know the complete list
Knews Desk– If you have to do any important work related to the bank next week, then this news is very important for you. Between July 13 and July 19, 2026, banks will remain closed for four days in many places in different states and cities of the country due to festivals and local events. In such a situation, before going to the bank branch, definitely check the list of holidays applicable in your city. However, banks will not remain closed simultaneously in all states, as Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holidays are decided based on local festivals and special occasions of the states. Therefore, in the state where there will be a holiday, bank branches will remain closed, while in other states banks will continue to function normally.
On July 13, 14 and 15, banks will remain open in most of the states of the country and customers will be able to complete their regular banking tasks easily. But there will be bank holidays between July 16 and July 19 due to various festivals and local events in different states. These also include weekly holidays. In such a situation, if you have to deposit a cheque, get a demand draft made, do locker related work or need the bank’s seal on any document, then it would be better to complete your work before the holidays. With this you will not have to face any kind of problem later.
However, despite bank branches remaining closed, customers do not need to panic. Today, most of the banking services are available on digital platforms. Facilities like UPI, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, ATM, NEFT and RTGS will continue as normal. Customers can transfer money, pay electricity, water, gas and mobile bills, check balance and avail many other essential banking services from the comfort of their homes. Apart from this, cash can be withdrawn from ATMs and digital payment services will also continue to work without any interruption. If you have to get the work done by visiting a branch, then first check with the concerned bank’s website, mobile app or customer service center whether the bank will be open on that day in your city or not. Many times banks remain open in some states on the same date, while in other states the branches remain closed due to local holidays. Therefore, if you reach the bank without information, your time may be wasted.
The Reserve Bank of India releases the list of bank holidays every year, which includes national holidays, state level festivals, religious festivals and weekly holidays. This is the reason why bank holidays are not uniform across the country. It is important for customers to get information about holidays in advance and schedule their important banking operations accordingly. Overall, banks will remain closed for four days in many states between July 13 and 19, 2026. Although online banking services will remain fully operational, it would be better to plan in advance for branch related work. If you have any important banking work pending, it would be wisest to complete it before the holidays.
