Big upheaval in Karnataka politics! Congress government shaken by ‘secret’ strategy of BJP-JDS
There is a lot of turmoil in Karnataka politics these days. BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) i.e. JDS have geared up to deal with the upcoming political challenges. To further strengthen the coordination between the two parties, preparations are now underway to form a ‘Coordination Committee’. Both these parties, which are engaged in laying the electoral chessboard, are focusing on making the organization more powerful at the grassroots level, due to which the political equations of the state seem to be completely changing.
Conflict over voter list and call for by-elections
At present the issue of ‘Voter List Revision’ (SIR) is a hot topic in the state. There is a war of words between BJP and Congress regarding this process. While the opposition has made serious allegations against the government, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar termed all the allegations as baseless and termed it a completely transparent process. Amidst this political noise, the churning between BJP and JDS has also intensified regarding the by-elections to be held on some assembly seats of the state. Both the parties are continuously talking for seat sharing and selection of strong candidates, so that the opposition can be given a tough fight in the elections.
High Court’s decision and preparations for 2028
Meanwhile, a big decision of Karnataka High Court has also sparked discussion in political circles. The court has canceled the FIR registered against BJP MLA Vedvyas Kamat, which is being considered as a big relief for the BJP. The real motive behind all these political developments is the 2028 assembly elections. All the three parties, Congress, BJP and JDS are already busy strengthening their hold. While the government is trying to woo the public on the basis of its development schemes, the opposition parties are leaving no stone unturned in expanding their organization and exposing the shortcomings of the government.
