Send a summons to the Russian ambassador? Kiev questions Delhi over sailor death in Black Sea

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine said in a statement that alarming news is coming from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine. Russia is constantly attacking commercial ships and ports there. Moscow is gradually increasing the number of attacks. As a result of this Russian aggression, the news of casualties of Indian sailors in the region is coming to the fore. The embassy also said that Kiev is providing all assistance to the affected sailors. Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, the seamen’s organization Forward Seamen’s Union of India (FSUI) said that 13 Indian seamen were stuck on a ship in Chornomorsk port of Ukraine. The name of the ship is MV Amir 1. Missile-drone attacks are continuously going on near that port. As a result, sailors are in danger.

Incidentally, on July 19, the vessel ‘MV Golden Leo’ was attacked while leaving the port of Odessa, Ukraine. The merchantman had a total of 17 sailors and naval personnel. Five of them are Indians. Four people lost their lives in the incident. One was injured. A day before this incident, on July 18, another ship named ‘MV Omorphy’ was attacked in Russian waters. An Indian sailor died. New Delhi strongly condemned both attacks.
