The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad of Team India for the tour of Sri Lanka. This time most of the discussion is going on about 33 year old Saransh Jain. The reason is that he has got a place in the Indian team for the first time at this age. Till now he did not get a chance to debut for Team India, but after being selected for the Sri Lanka tour, his hopes of debuting in international cricket have increased a lot.
Let us tell you that after about 8 months, the Indian team will once again take the field to play Test cricket. Before this, Team India last played a two-match Test series against South Africa at home, in which South Africa defeated India 2-0. Now the Indian team is going to play a two-match test series against Sri Lanka. This series will start from 15th August.

Shubman Gill (captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Sai Sudarshan*, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Manav Suthar, Jasprit Bumrah*, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Devdutt Padikkal and Saransh Jain.
How old is the Indian Test team?
Saransh Jain is not the only player in the Indian team selected for the Sri Lanka tour whose age is more than 30 years. Even though the captain of the team is young, it also includes many experienced players who have crossed the age of 30. This list includes KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.

- KL Rahul (34 years): 34-year-old KL Rahul has scored 913 runs in 11 Test matches so far in the years 2025 and 2026. This includes 4 centuries and 3 half-centuries.
- Ravindra Jadeja (37 years):Ravindra Jadeja, 37, has scored 764 runs in 10 Test matches in 2025, which includes two centuries and six half-centuries. He has also taken 25 wickets in these matches.
- Kuldeep Yadav (31 years):31 year old Kuldeep Yadav has played 5 Test matches so far in 2025 and 2026. He has taken 23 wickets in these 5 matches.
- Jasprit Bumrah (32 years):32 year old Jasprit Bumrah has played 8 test matches in the year 2025. He has taken 29 wickets in these 8 matches.
- Mohammad Siraj (32 years):32-year-old Mohammad Siraj has played 11 Test matches so far between the years 2025 and 2026. He has taken 53 wickets in these 11 matches.
- Famous Krishna (30 years):30-year-old Prasidh Krishna has played 5 Test matches so far between the years 2026 and 2025. Took 23 wickets in these 5 matches.
In such a situation, even though these 7 cricketers have crossed the age of 30, no question can be raised on their experience. All these players have been in excellent form for the last one year.
