Historic step of Delhi government: 17 lakh women will get this much money every month

Chief Minister of the capital Delhi, Rekha Gupta has announced a huge gift for women. Women of the state will now be given Rs 2500 every month. The registration process for this will start from August 1.

Some conditions have been set for this. Under 'Lakshmi Yojana' of Delhi government, 17 lakh women are going to get this benefit. The first condition for this is that only women between 21 to 60 years of age will get the benefit of this scheme. Women whose family income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. Along with this, income tax payers, government employees, other pensioners and women receiving financial assistance will not be eligible for this.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has given information through a tweet on social media platform 'X'. In this he wrote, “Online registration for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is starting from August 1. All eligible sisters are requested to get themselves registered. Every month the Delhi government will send Rs 2,500 to your account. This is the pledge of the Delhi government dedicated to your hard work, your respect and your confidence.”

According to CM Rekha Gupta, more than 17 lakh women will get the benefit of the first installment of this scheme on Rakshabandhan. Lakshmi Yojana has received cabinet approval. The government will distribute Rs 5110 crore every month to more than 17 lakh women. This step of the government is a big step towards economic security and self-reliance.

Online portal started for the scheme

The online portal will be launched by the government from August 1, 2026. Applications for the scheme will be made through online portal. The entire process will be digital and transparent. Also, verification will be done at the district level and approval will be given. Transparent grievance system will be implemented for complaints.

The government has also given two options to get this scheme. In the first option, women will get Rs 1500 in FD, RD and Rs 1000 in CBDC digital rupee wallet. In the second option, you can get the entire Rs 2500 in the form of FD/RD. The government believes that this will promote both savings and financial security.
