Iran’s most secret nuclear base on Trump’s target, announced to blow up ‘Pickaxe Mountain’
New Delhi: Tension between Iran and America seems to be increasing once again. This time the center of discussion is a very secret underground nuclear base of Iran, which is said to be built deep beneath the Zagros mountain range. US President Donald Trump has given a strict statement regarding this base and has indicated that America may take military action against it in the future.
According to reports, a vast underground tunnel network exists beneath Kuh-e Kolang Gaj La (also known as Pickaxe Mountain), located within the Zagros mountain range. Experts believe that this complex can be used for uranium enrichment or to keep high level nuclear materials safe. This base is said to be located at a distance of about two kilometers from the Natanz nuclear center. The Natanz site has faced attacks from American bunker-buster bombs before, but this new underground complex is still considered safe.
Trump gave open warning
During an interview, US President Donald Trump took a tough stance regarding this secret hideout. He said that America is constantly keeping an eye on Pickaxe Mountain and every activity there is being monitored. Trump also said that if necessary, America will take action against this base. According to him, America is constantly monitoring the activities of Iran’s nuclear program and is ready to respond to any suspicious step.
Have made big claims before also
Trump has claimed many times before that Iran’s nuclear program had suffered huge damage due to American attacks last year. However, his latest statement regarding this new underground complex present in the same area indicates that America is still cautious about Iran’s nuclear activities. His recent statement has also made it clear that America is viewing this base as a potential security challenge.
Will American bunker-buster bombs reach here?
American media reports have claimed that this underground complex has been built at such a depth that even the existing American bunker-buster bombs cannot reach there easily. According to nuclear experts, America’s most powerful bunker-buster bombs can penetrate soil and rocks up to 200 feet or break concrete up to 20 feet thick. Whereas it is estimated that some parts of this complex are 260 to 330 feet below the ground. Experts say that this depth can be greater than Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant, which makes it very difficult to target this base.
Construction work continues from 2020
According to the information, work on this underground project located in the southern part of Natanz Nuclear Center is going on continuously since the year 2020. Initially, Iran had said that the centrifuge assembly facility here was being rebuilt, which was damaged in an earlier sabotage. However, satellite images and various reports that emerged later claimed that construction work continued at this location even after the American and Israeli attacks. It is said that activities will also be visible in the pictures after September 2025.
Even IAEA could not inspect
According to reports, this underground complex has not yet been inspected by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This is the reason why there has been a lot of speculation regarding this whereabouts. Satellite images surfaced in recent months have indicated further strengthening of tunnel entrances, construction of new security walls, large piles of excavated soil and the presence of heavy machinery. Analysts believe that these activities indicate that Iran is continuously developing this complex and is engaged in strengthening its security to protect it from any possible air attack in the future.
