A serious incident has come to light in Lucknow’s Ashiana area, where a police sub-inspector (SI) investigating a rape allegation under the pretext of marriage has been accused of raping a woman. It is alleged that the inspector, taking advantage of the woman’s helplessness during the investigation, had sex with her by giving her false legal assurances. Following the incident, a case has been filed against the accused inspector under serious charges, including rape, and he has been suspended.

The woman had previously accused her lover of rape under the pretext of marriage.

The victim, who is said to be a resident of the Ashiana area, alleged that a young man had engaged in physical relations with her for several years under the promise of marriage, but later refused to marry her. The woman complained to senior police officers, following which the investigation was assigned to Sub-Inspector Dharmveer Shahi.

Allegations of inappropriate advances during the investigation

The woman alleges that during the investigation, the Inspector summoned her to the police station and told her that since the case was old, a medical examination would not provide any significant evidence, and that it would be difficult to convict the accused. According to the allegations, the Inspector also said that if she had physical relations with him, he would help strengthen the case and send the accused to jail.

Allegations of taking her to a hotel and having physical relations with her

In the complaint, the woman alleged that the Inspector, abusing his influence and position, took her to a hotel and had physical relations with her. Later, the woman realized she had been deceived, after which she reported the entire incident to higher authorities.

FIR registered against the Inspector, suspended with immediate effect

Given the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case against the accused Sub-Inspector Dharmveer Shahi under relevant sections, including rape. He has been suspended with immediate effect as part of departmental action. Police officials say the case is being investigated impartially and further legal action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge from the investigation.

Investigation ongoing, decision on arrest based on evidence

Police say the investigation is ongoing. If the allegations are confirmed, further legal action, including arrest, will be taken against the accused police officer.

Note: The investigation into the allegations made in this case is ongoing. The accused is presumed innocent in the eyes of the law until proven guilty by a court.
