Sick prisoner escaped from the hospital by dodging the policeman, questions on the agility of the police

A prisoner escaped from Nawada Sadar Hospital in Bihar by dodging the police. As soon as the prisoner escaped from the prisoner ward, there was a commotion in the entire hospital premises. The patients and their families also got scared. Suddenly the police and jail administration came into alert mode. A blockade was started in the city and a search was started. This incident has once again raised big questions on the security arrangements of the hospital and jail.

The escaped prisoner has been identified as Asghar Malik alias Dara. His age is around 18 years. He is a resident of Dhamoul village of Dhamoul police station area. His father’s name is Allauddin Malik. Asghar was in judicial custody in Dhamoul police station in an assault case. He was lodged in Nawada Mandal Jail. In jail his health suddenly deteriorated and he started feeling dizzy. After this, he was brought to Sadar Hospital on Friday under police custody for treatment.

Prisoner escapes after scuffle with policeman

He was undergoing treatment under police surveillance in the prisoner ward. At around five in the evening, seeing the opportunity, he had a scuffle with the security personnel on duty and ran away. The incident happened so fast that before the deployed policemen could understand anything, he left the hospital premises. As soon as the news of the prisoner’s escape spread, there was chaos in the entire Sadar Hospital.

An atmosphere of fear was created among the patients admitted in the ward and their family members. The policemen present on the spot immediately closed all the gates of the hospital and started searching the entire premises. But even after searching for a long time, no trace of Asghar was found. As soon as the information was received, the city police station, jail administration and senior officials immediately reached Sadar Hospital. He took complete information about the incident and gave instructions for further action.

Questions raised on security arrangements

The escape of a prisoner from the prisoner ward of the hospital is being considered a major lapse in security arrangements. Questions are being raised as to how such gross negligence took place during treatment in police custody. Officials have started investigating the matter. The role of the policemen on duty is also under doubt. Efforts are being made to find out where the mistake happened and how the prisoner got the chance to escape.

An official of the jail administration said that there were not enough soldiers deployed for security during the treatment in the hospital. Taking advantage of this the prisoner escaped. Police officials say that Asghar Malik will be arrested very soon. All the police stations have been alerted since his escape.
