Big step by Jharkhand Health Department, now complete system of free operation and treatment for children related to heart disease.
Jharkhand News: A very commendable and big initiative has been taken regarding the health of children in Bokaro city of Jharkhand. A special medical camp was organized by the Health Department, Jharkhand in collaboration with the National Child Health Program and Amrita Hospital, Kochi. This camp was organized at Shibu Soren Smriti Bhawan Town Hall in Bokaro, where a huge crowd of patients was seen since morning. The main objective of this special camp was to provide free screening for heart related diseases in children up to 18 years of age and to provide them the right treatment. Through this camp, there has been great relief to those poor families who were not able to get expensive treatment for their children due to lack of money.
Hundreds of children arrived from 5 districts
To avail the benefits of this special camp, a large number of parents not only from Bokaro but from five different districts of Jharkhand arrived with their children. The team of doctors screened all the children with full dedication and took stock of their health. During this testing process, children who have been found to have serious heart related diseases have been shortlisted for further treatment. The heart operation of all these identified children will be done completely free of cost at Amrita Hospital, Kochi. The biggest relief is that the hospital management will bear the entire expense of accommodation, food and medicines of the children and their families during treatment in Kochi. Along with this, the arrangement of taking patients from Jharkhand to Kochi and back will also be completely free.
Modern facility for heart treatment will start soon in Jharkhand
It is the effort of the Health Department of the Government of Jharkhand to ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach the needy children living in every part of the state. In this series, such camps are being organized continuously at different places in the entire state. Campaign Director of National Health Mission, Shashi Prakash Jha shared a big information on this occasion. He told that at present, there is no complete system available in the government or local hospitals of Jharkhand for the complex treatment of heart diseases of children below 18 years of age. For this reason, the state government has entered into a special agreement with renowned private hospitals of the country. Under this agreement, children are being sent outside and given free treatment. He also assured that in the coming time, all these modern medical facilities will be available within Jharkhand itself, for this the government is working seriously.
Shortness of breath and yellowing of the body are serious symptoms.
In this medical camp, Dr. Brijesh, a well-known specialist in the cardiology department from Amrita Hospital, Kochi, along with his team also examined the children. He gave detailed information about heart diseases occurring in children and their symptoms. Doctor Brijesh told that when small children have heart disease, some special changes start appearing in their body, such as the child starts breathing short of breath while playing or drinking milk or his body starts turning pale yellow or blue. While making the parents aware, he said that these symptoms should not be ignored at all because with timely identification, its treatment is completely possible. He told that till now his team has successfully treated more than 200 such children and hundreds of children from Jharkhand are also being treated completely free of cost in his hospital.
