Shah Rukh Khan's King enters final shooting phase

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller King is reportedly entering the final phase of production, with the makers planning one last international shooting schedule. According to reports, director Siddharth Anand is considering locations in the United States and South America to film the remaining portions of the movie.

The final overseas schedule is expected to take place in August, subject to production requirements and location approvals.

Recce underway in the US and South America

According to a Mid-day report, a location recce team is currently in the United States scouting potential filming locations and finalising production logistics.

The team is also expected to visit select countries in South America before deciding where the film’s concluding sequence will be shot. While no locations have been officially confirmed, the makers are reportedly looking for visually distinctive settings that have not been extensively featured in mainstream Indian cinema.

The report states that only one major sequence remains to be filmed before production is completed.

Siddharth Anand aiming for a unique visual backdrop

Sources quoted in the report claim that Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan are keen to shoot the climax or concluding portions in an unexplored international destination to give King a fresh visual identity.

Most of the film has already been completed across multiple schedules over the past several months. Once the final international leg concludes, the production is expected to move into post-production ahead of its planned theatrical release in December 2026.

Star-studded cast

King marks the first on-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, making it one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year.

The film also features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles.

Shah Rukh returns after blockbuster run

King will be Shah Rukh Khan’s first release since his successful 2023 comeback, when he delivered three major films—Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki.

His performance in Jawan also earned him his first National Film Award for Best Actor. The honour was announced as part of the 71st National Film Awards and was shared with Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award during the official ceremony in September 2025.

Meanwhile, Suhana Khan made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies in 2023 and is now set to make her theatrical debut alongside her father in King.

With only one major schedule remaining, fans are now awaiting an official update from the makers regarding the film’s final shoot and promotional campaign.
