Arrest of Mohammad Rafiq Naik who helped Pakistani terrorists, major police operation in Kishtwar
While cracking down on a network supporting Pakistani militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, the police have arrested one more key terrorist aide. According to the police, the arrested local accused Mohammad Rafiq Naik is accused of helping the Saifullah group of terrorists.
Saifullah was working as the main handler of the group
Kishtwar SSP Naresh Singh said Naik was arrested from Chatru area. Preliminary investigation revealed that he was working as the main handler of Saifullah group in Chatru area and providing support to Pakistani terrorists.
Seven terrorists have been killed in the encounter
All seven militants of Saifullah group of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed have been killed in separate encounters in Chhatru area. Four of these militants were killed last year and the last three, including self-proclaimed commander Saifullah, were killed in February.
An investigation is underway to dismantle the entire network
Munir Ahmed and Mashkoor Ahmed, residents of Chhatru, were earlier arrested on charges of aiding terrorists in the case. Police said investigations are on to identify and dismantle the entire network.
