On Thursday, July 23, 2026, gold was trading at Rs 1,49,200 per 10 grams. Local traders said that this decline was due to profit-booking. A big fall was also recorded in the prices of silver. It became cheaper by Rs 5,000 to Rs 2,24,700 per kg (including all taxes). The white metal had closed at Rs 2,29,700 per kg in the previous session. This fall in silver was due to heavy selling.
Know why the domestic market declined?
The main reason for the fall in gold prices in the domestic market was profit-booking. Traders sold their gold at higher prices, putting pressure on prices. Heavy selling was also seen in silver, due to which its prices came down. Bullion prices remained soft due to less interest from buyers in the market. This situation reflects weak buying sentiment.
