Brazil Election Brazil Denies Visa To US Officials Over Fears Of Election Interference: Brazil has clearly refused to grant visas to two senior officials of the Trump administration. These two American officials have been accused of hatching a major conspiracy to raise serious questions on the credibility of the country’s electoral system and process. According to sources, it was believed that this visit of American officials to Brazil was an attempt to directly influence the presidential elections to be held in October. This election will be between leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Trump supporter Flavio Bolsonaro.

Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Riley M. Barnes was among the US delegation whose visa applications were rejected. Deputy Assistant Secretary Samuel Samson was also supposed to go to Brazil with him, but his visa application was rejected on Friday. A Brazilian official said that this major decision to reject the visa application has been taken on the basis of intelligence evidence. This evidence strongly indicates that they were trying to undermine the electoral system and take political advantage.

Trump’s interference in Latin America

This sensational attempt to interfere in Brazil’s major elections has come at a time when the Trump administration is active in Latin America. Donald Trump is constantly trying his best to influence political developments in many countries of Latin America as per his wish. Trump had also recently openly supported Colombia’s President Abelardo de la Espriella and Argentina’s Javier Milla. Earlier, he had also openly supported right-wing leaders like Chile’s Jose Antonio Caste from the stage.

Electoral history of Bolsonaro family

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had repeatedly raised questions on the country’s electronic voting system before the 2022 elections. This entire strategy of Jair Bolsonaro is exactly similar to the stance adopted by Donald Trump in America after the 2020 elections. In that historic election, the current President Lula da Silva had registered a big victory, after which Bolsonaro was banned from contesting elections till 2030. Bolsonaro was later jailed for 27 years on charges of conspiracy to remain in power and is under house arrest.
