Namo Drone Didi Yojana : While modernizing agriculture in rural Maharashtra, the central government has launched ‘Namo Drone Didi’ with the aim of providing a new means of employment to village women. The scheme has started to be implemented on a large scale across the country. The main objective of this revolutionary scheme is to increase the use of digital technology by changing the traditional farming method and thereby making women self-help groups financially self-reliant. Under this scheme, drones are being provided to around 15 thousand women self-help groups in the country, and this is changing the face of the rural economy.

The biggest feature of this scheme is the generous financial assistance provided by the government to rural women to become self-employed. Which woman would be eligible?

15 days free residential and professional training
The government provides 15 days free residential training to the selected women to give them official training in drone flying. A woman who successfully completes the training is awarded an official ‘Remote Pilot Certificate’ by the government.
