CJP is strict regarding action against students, ultimatum to Assam, Bengal and Bihar governments

Tezzbuzz Desk- After the student agitation that started over the NEET paper leak issue, now the controversy has increased regarding the alleged action against the protesters. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has raised questions on the central government over the arrest of students and other protesters in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar. The party has demanded the government to fulfill its earlier assurance and immediately release all the detained people.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das shared a post on social media platform He expressed concern over these incidents, particularly mentioning Assam, West Bengal and Bihar. Saurav Das said that CJP had called off its nationwide protests after the central government had given assurance that no punitive action would be taken against any protestor. He said that this decision was taken believing the assurance of the government, hence the news of the action coming now is worrying.

He said the party’s legal team is already working to assist the detained students and other protesters. In coordination with the lawyers of the respective states, legal aid is being provided to the affected people and efforts are being made for their release. CJP has appealed to the Central Government to honor its promise and has sought the intervention of Union Ministers in this matter. The party said the government should ensure that there is no coercive or retaliatory action against protesters in any part of the country. Besides, a demand has also been made to withdraw all the FIRs lodged.

Saurav Das said that the Central Government had assured to give a written guarantee in this regard by July 28, 2026. He said that the decision to end the agitation was taken on the basis of talks and trust. If the government goes back on its promise, it will affect the confidence not only of the CJP but also of millions of youth who chose the path of dialogue instead of protest. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to maintain the trust of the youth. It is not enough to just give assurances, but it is necessary to fulfill those assurances. CJP has appealed to the Central Government and the BJP-NDA ruled state governments to handle the situation with sensitivity and responsibility.

The party has clarified that if the detained students and protesters are not released soon and the FIRs are not withdrawn, it will consider further action. At present, the political atmosphere remains heated regarding the paper leak case and alleged action against students.
