UP Weather Alert: Alert of heavy to very heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh till July 29, IMD issued warning

Lucknow: Monsoon has once again gained momentum in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Regional Meteorological Center of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Lucknow, rain, thunderstorm and lightning activities are likely to continue in the state for the next five days. Especially on July 28 and 29, an alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in many districts.

July 27: There is a possibility of heavy rain and lightning in many districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in some parts of Western Uttar Pradesh and many districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 27.

The districts under warning of heavy rain include Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Barabanki, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal and Badaun.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in many districts including Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Basti, Kushinagar, Amethi and Sultanpur.

July 28: Chances of rain in the entire state

The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be rain in almost entire Uttar Pradesh on July 28.

Warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in Sonbhadra, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur and Bareilly.

Heavy rainfall is forecast in many districts including Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal and Badaun.

July 29: There will be danger of heavy rain in these districts also

Rain is likely to continue over most parts of western Uttar Pradesh and many areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 29.

An alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued in Lalitpur. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts including Banda, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly and Pilibhit.

Rain will continue on 30th and 31st July also

According to IMD, rain, thunder and lightning activities will continue in various parts of the state on July 30 and 31.

IMD warning: danger of waterlogging and lightning

The Meteorological Department has warned that due to continuous rains, there is a possibility of waterlogging at many places, increase in the water level of rivers and drains, disruption in road and rail traffic, impact on power supply and damage to kutcha houses.

There may also be damage to people, property and livestock in some areas.

Important advice for people and farmers

The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather, not to go near water-logged areas and rivers and not to take shelter under trees during thunderstorms.

Drivers have been advised to take special care in low visibility and slippery roads.

Farmers have been advised to ensure drainage of excess water from fields, take measures to prevent waterlogging in paddy, sugarcane, pulses, oilseeds, maize and vegetable crops and avoid use of fertilizers during incessant rains. Support to banana, papaya and other horticulture crops and regular monitoring of diseases have also been advised.
