India’s squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting on August 15, was announced on Tuesday.
Shubman Gill will continue to lead the side, with KL Rahul as his deputy.
Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been added to the squad, but his participation is subject to fitness clearance from BCCI’s COE. Similarly, B Sai Sudharsan too will have to wait for COE’s go-ahead.
Spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar will miss the first Test due to a hamstring injury, with Saransh Jain roped in as the replacement in the Indian squad.

The first Test will be played in Galle, from August 15, while the second Test will happen at SSC, Colombo, starting on August 23.
India’s last Test series in Sri Lanka came in 2017, when the side romped to a comfortable 3-0 sweep.
