What did Naseeruddin Shah say?
During the CJP Protest in Delhi, Naseeruddin Shah had raised questions on the silence of Bollywood artists. Taking a jibe at the silent actors, he had said, 'Those who have bones in their mouth cannot speak'. He used to say that celebrities in the film industry express their views on any issue only when they see their own benefit. Now Piyush Mishra has reacted to his statement. He has explained the difference between student protest in Delhi and Jharkhand.
Piyush Mishra's support to Gen-Z
Piyush Mishra told the students, “It was a pleasure talking to all of you. That's why I have come here again today. The job of the government is to run the government. They take every step very thoughtfully. They are trying to maintain peace. You guys should also maintain peace. Do not use abusive and dirty language. In such matters, I am old-fashioned. I do not tolerate abusive language at all. I also have two children, who Gen-Z is also aware of politics.”
Blunt answer to Naseeruddin Shah
“I am not against the students involved in this whole matter. After all, they were students. But we should think about what happened there (in the CJP Protest). During the CJP Protest, Naseeruddin Shah had said that the film industry is sitting silently. It is not raising its voice in support of the students' protest. He had said that those who have bones in their mouth, they cannot speak. I would like to tell you that.. Naseeruddin Shah.. Please forgive me. I want to ask, who are these dogs with bones in their mouth? There is a big difference between the students protesting here and eating rice. They are protesting by eating rice.
He further said, “Are you silent because you feel like eating pizza and burgers or because you are a member of a particular group? Sorry Naseer Sahab, I respect you a lot, but now I am not afraid of you.”
