Neeraj Chopra threw his best throw of the season

Neeraj Chopra: Indian star javelin throw athlete Neeraj Chopra has finished second in the Lausanne Diamond League 2026. This was the first event after the Commonwealth Games 2026 in which Neeraj was in action and hence all eyes were on him. Neeraj started the event brilliantly and captured the second position in the first round itself with a throw of 83.54 metres. After this, Neeraj made a throw of 88.05 meters in the second round, which was also his best throw of this season and on the basis of this, he managed to finish in second position.

The biggest challenge for Neeraj Chopra in the Lausanne Diamond League was Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, who threw 85.99 meters in the first round, while Neeraj’s throw was 83.54 meters in the first round. After this, at the end of the first round, Neeraj Chopra remained at the second position. In the second round, Rumesh Pathirage made a throw of 87.06 meters while Neeraj improved and captured the first position with a throw of 88.05 meters. This was also Neeraj’s best throw of this season in which he had earlier thrown 85.83 meters in the Commonwealth Games 2026.

In the third round, Sri Lankan javelin throw athlete Rumesh Pathirage made a throw of 88.14 meters which was only 8 cm better than Neeraj’s throw. On the basis of this, he again reached the first position, whereas in the third round, Neeraj Chopra made a throw of 83.72 meters. Neeraj committed a foul in the fourth round and decided not to throw in the fifth round, due to which the fans were a little worried about his fitness.

All eyes were on Neeraj Chopra for his effort in the sixth and final round, in which he made a comeback and finished in second position with a throw of 86.69 meters. This comeback was quite wonderful for Neeraj Chopra.
