New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain has been granted bail in a case related to alleged irregularities in the tender process of Sewage Treatment Plant Projects. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court approved his bail plea on Thursday.

Special Judge (PC Act) Digvinay Singh passed the order in this case. Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau i.e. ACB on August 18. This case is related to alleged irregularities in the tender process of Sewage Treatment Plant Projects of Delhi Jal Board (DJB). A case was registered against Jain under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code, which was in force before the Indian Judicial Code.
Allegation of irregularities in the process of contracts related to treatment plants
This case was registered in May 2024 following a complaint by the Directorate of Vigilance of the Delhi government. It is alleged that the conditions were allegedly manipulated in the tender process of contracts related to upgrading the sewage treatment plants of Delhi Jal Board. Criminal conspiracy and alleged bribe payment are also being investigated in the case.
Legal process will continue against Satyendra Jain
After the arrest of Satyendar Jain, on August 19, the court had refused to declare his arrest illegal. Now on Thursday the court has granted him bail. Further legal process will continue on the allegations made by the investigating agency in the case. At present, the court's decision to grant bail to Satyendra Jain has got a big relief in this case.
