Major action under Gangster Te War campaign in Punjab, raids at 584 places, 250 arrested

Police teams from all the districts in coordination with Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​Punjab are carrying out special operations across the state.

68,115 arrests so far

On day 228, police teams arrested 250 persons, taking the total to 68,115 arrests since the start of the operation. Apart from this, preventive action has been taken against 232 persons. Police teams also arrested nine absconding criminals (POs) during the operation.

16 people agreed to get rid of drug addiction

Meanwhile, the police teams have continued their campaign against drugs ‘Yudh Nasheyan Viruddh’ for the 553rd day. In which today 76 drug smugglers have been arrested and 967 grams of heroin, 300 grams of opium, 7361 intoxicating pills and drug money worth Rs 2650 have been recovered from their possession. With this, the total number of drug smugglers arrested in just 553 days has increased to 77,183. As part of the de-addiction campaign, Punjab Police has convinced 16 persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
