Pakistan cricket team wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has been accused of betting and promoting gambling. After the England Test series, a notice was issued against Mohammad Rizwan, against which Mohammad Rizwan had filed a petition in the High Court. The court has rejected this petition. Mohammad Rizwan was sent a notice by Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). This notice was related to online betting in Pakistan cricket, regarding which NCCIA had questioned Mohammad Rizwan. Earlier, many players were suddenly sent back to Pakistan in the middle of the England series.
Mohammad Rizwan had filed a petition against the agency's notice in the Lahore High Court. After which the High Court rejected the petition on 17 September. For your information, Mohammad Rizwan was one of those players who was dropped from the Pakistan team during the England tour. During the court hearing, Mohammad Rizwan's lawyer had told important things.

What did the lawyer say?
Mohammad Rizwan's lawyer claimed, 'When the Pakistan team went on England tour, Mohammad Rizwan was called to the hotel lobby at 1:00 in the night after the match. An officer was present there, who was reportedly from the investigating agency. The officer had interrogated Mohammad Rizwan whereas notice should have been given before the interrogation. The inquiry was conducted without giving any notice.
Apart from this, Mohammad Rizwan's lawyer accused the officials, 'They had also confiscated Rizwan's phone. The officer had assured that the mobile phone would be returned after 3 hours, whereas till now the mobile has not been returned.

Rizwan rejected the allegations
Mohammad Rizwan has been accused of cricket betting or corruption. Mohammad Rizwan rejected these allegations. He said that efforts are being made to tarnish his image through these allegations. For this reason, Mohammad Rizwan's lawyer argued through the petition that the Anti-Corruption Unit has the authority to investigate cases related to corruption in international cricket. NCCIA has no authority to investigate in this matter.
After hearing the arguments of Mohammad Rizwan's lawyer, the court rejected Rizwan's petition. Also instructed Mohammad Rizwan to cooperate in the investigation. At present, investigation is going on regarding this matter.
