Dyson has launched the V16 Piston Animal cordless vacuum cleaner in India at Rs 79,900, introducing a new floor-cleaning head, a 900W motor and a dust-compression system.
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal uses a Hyperdymium 900W motor that delivers up to 315 air watts (AW) of suction, according to the company. Dyson says the motor is 50% more powerful than its previous-generation Hyperdymium motor.
The vacuum comes with a new All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head, which uses two conical brush bars designed to prevent long hair from wrapping around the brush. Dyson says the system can handle hair up to 60 cm long and directs it into the dust bin instead of leaving it tangled around the brush.
The cleaner head can also detect changes between floor types and automatically adjust suction and brush-bar speed. It slows the brush rotation on hard floors and increases it on carpets, according to Dyson.
Another new feature is the CleanCompaktor bin, which compresses dust and debris. Dyson claims the system can hold three times more dust and debris than the same volume without compaction. The bin is also designed to wipe its internal surfaces during emptying.
The V16 Piston Animal has a five-stage, fully sealed HEPA filtration system. Dyson says laboratory testing showed it captured 99.99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, although the company notes that filtration performance can vary during real-world use.
The vacuum also features LED illumination to highlight dust, built-in tools, a crevice tool and a Hair Screw Tool 2.0. Dyson lists a claimed runtime of up to 70 minutes in Eco mode on hard floors, with a swappable battery available for extended use.
The device can connect to the MyDyson app, which provides additional settings and maintenance alerts, including guidance on filter cleaning.
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is available in India for Rs 79,900 through Dyson’s website and its stores across the country.
