Mirzapur: At the conclusion of Ganesh Utsav, the immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha was done with pomp and devotion in Shukulpur village of Drummondganj area. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees in the village since morning regarding Ganpati immersion. After the puja, the devotees decorated the idol of Ganpati Bappa and took out a visarjan yatra with musical instruments.
A large number of villagers, women, youth and children participated in the yatra. The devotees moved ahead dancing and singing to the beats of drums and the atmosphere remained devotional with the chants of Ganpati Bappa all the way. Devotees wished each other a happy Ganesh Utsav by blowing Abir-Gulal. During the immersion journey, a festive atmosphere prevailed in the village and people bid farewell to Lord Ganesha with full devotion. After reaching the immersion site, prayers were performed as per the rituals.
After which the devotees immersed the idol of Ganpati Bappa with moist eyes. During this, devotees prayed to Lord Ganesha for happiness, peace, prosperity and prosperity in the family and area. The immersion of the Ganesh idol ended with the slogan “Ganpati Bappa Morya, next year you come quickly”. The villagers concluded the Ganesh Utsav in an atmosphere of mutual brotherhood and cordiality.
