New Delhi: To tighten the noose on cyber crime along with the safety of women and children, Delhi Police, as part of a public awareness campaign, reached out directly to the people and informed them about security measures. In a program organized at Vasant Udyan District Park, Vasant Kunj under the 'We Care' initiative in the South-West district, police officers interacted with women and children, listened to their problems and explained necessary safety measures.
Police officers including ACP of Vasant Vihar were present in the program. Policemen taught self-defense tips to the women and demonstrated basic techniques on the spot. The police also informed the women and children to remain alert in adverse situations and seek police assistance if needed.
The police especially alerted people regarding cyber crime. The team of Cyber Police Station gave information about the methods of online fraud and precautions to be taken while using digital platforms. Police advised people to be cautious of suspicious links, messages and online activities and to immediately seek police help if they suspect fraud.
Police also provided safety related information to the people through public relations van. Videos related to various activities of Delhi Police and citizen services were shown in the van. Through this, people were informed about the services and support system available from the police. During the program, police officers interacted directly with women and children and heard their safety concerns.
Answering people's questions, the police gave information about available security measures and ways of assistance. Delhi Police musical band also performed in the programme. According to the police, through such programs under 'We Care', emphasis is being laid on increasing communication between the police and the general public and making women, children and other citizens aware about prevention of crime.
