Fatehpur, 28 September (Tarunmitra). A massive cylinder explosion in Malwan town on Monday evening shook the entire area. After a sudden loud explosion while cooking, a two-storey house was completely razed to the ground. The explosion was so powerful that even the nearby houses shook and there was screams on the spot. After the accident, there was panic in the police administration as many people were buried under the debris. The villagers immediately started relief and rescue operations and the police and fire brigade teams took charge. In the prolonged rescue, all the people buried under the debris were taken out, but four people died in the accident, while five were seriously injured. There was a sudden explosion in the cylinder while cooking at around 5 pm on Monday evening in the two-storey house of Suraj Gupta, a resident of Malwan town. With the explosion, the structure of the house collapsed and the people present in the house were buried under the debris. Hearing the sound of the explosion, people nearby ran towards the spot. Within some time, a large crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. As soon as the information was received that people were buried under the debris, the local people started their rescue efforts.
Police and fire brigade teams also reached the spot. The administrative staff quickly started the rescue operation and got the debris removed. After much effort, the people buried under the debris were pulled out. The injured were immediately sent to the Medical College at Allipur. Where the doctors declared Kunal son of Suresh 17 years, Yash 8 years, Ved son of late Rohit 14 years and one other dead. While among the injured, Suresh Gupta son late Mewalal, Manno wife Suresh 40 years, Pooja wife late Rohit Gupta 40 years, Kartik son Suresh 10 years, Lakshmi Gupta daughter Suresh 18 years, Arpit son late Rohit Gupta are undergoing treatment in the medical college.
As soon as information about the accident was received, the administrative staff including District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats and Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik reached the spot. The officials took stock of the relief and rescue work going on at the spot and instructed the rescue team to quickly remove the debris and rescue the people trapped inside. After this, DM and SP reached the Medical College and inquired about the well being of the injured admitted there. Officials instructed doctors to provide the best treatment to the injured and keep special monitoring of serious patients.
