A 31-year-old Indian-origin man has been arrested in Chicago for allegedly stabbing his estranged wife to death. The young man named Ankur Patel told the interrogation that this murder was because his wife did not agree to start a new family after getting into a new relationship with an ex-colleague of theirs.
It is known that the incident happened last August. Accused Ankur Patel and his 32-year-old wife got divorced some time ago. His wife left their home in Wisconsin in May. They also have a daughter. It is known that after the separation, the wife came back to Patel for some time under the pressure of the family, but soon went back again. She then began a relationship with another man and the two moved to Louisiana. But he kept their daughter with Patel.
Ankur starts threatening to kill his estranged wife and her new partner. He also prevented his wife from talking to their daughter, over which they often quarreled. A few days ago, the accused sent their daughter to her parents in India without informing his wife. He then allegedly invited his wife to come to Chicago to meet their daughter. Unaware that the girl has been sent to India, Ankur's wife goes to the apartment. His partner was waiting downstairs. The woman went to the apartment and found that her daughter was not at home. Ankur is alone there. After that, the accused proposed to the ex-wife to rekindle the relationship. But his wife informs him that she will stay with her new partner. Enraged by this, Ankur allegedly hit his wife's throat with a knife. Meanwhile, as he did not come down, his partner informed the police. Then some of Ankur's friends went to his apartment. At best they were supposed to go there. They go and are shocked to find the dead body of the woman lying near the washing machine and Ankur is not there.
Ankur was then arrested from the airport. It is known that even after going to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, he did not get a ticket on the first day. The accused forced himself into a nearby hotel. Throw away the murder knife. It is even known that he went to the store and bought new clothes. The next day he bought a plane ticket to India. However, the police arrested him before boarding the plane. The accused also confessed his crime to the police.
