Under this service, people can correct their Aadhaar information for free by uploading their identity card (ID Proof) and important address related documents (Address Proof) online.
Why did the government take this big decision?
According to UIDAI, the decision to extend this free service has been taken after the excellent and positive response received from the people. A large number of people in the country are updating their Aadhaar through online medium, due to which this entire process has become much easier and faster than before. Along with this, UIDAI has also made a special appeal to the general public. The authority says that those who had made their Aadhar card many years ago and have not updated their documents even once since then, should upload their important documents online as soon as possible. With this, accurate and up-to-date information about people will be maintained in the government database of Aadhaar.
