IPS-turned-politician Annamalai and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have now parted ways. Of. Annamalai has resigned from the primary membership of BJP and his resignation has been accepted by the party’s national president Nitin Naveen. Earlier, efforts were going on to convince Annamalai. In this sequence, he also came to Delhi and met senior party leader BL Santosh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Now it is being said that Annamalai had already taken his decision but had come to meet Amit Shah on his call. Today itself he is also going to hold a press conference about his future journey.
June 4 was Annamalai’s birthday and even before his birthday, such posters were put up at many places in Tamil Nadu indicating that he could leave BJP and form his own party. However, the top leadership of BJP was alerted about this and Annamalai was immediately called to Delhi. Annamalai also went to Delhi and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Now it is being said that Annamalai had made up his mind to leave BJP, hence he did not agree to any kind of offer.

Why is Annamalai separating?
Annamalai has maintained silence about this till now but it is being said that BJP has not agreed on the alliance formula in Tamil Nadu. BJP wants to go with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in any case, while Annamalai wants to contest the elections alone under any circumstances.
Due to opposition from AIADMK, Annamalai was removed from the post of Tamil Nadu BJP President, whereas under his leadership, BJP’s vote percentage in Tamil Nadu only increased. This time he was not even given a ticket in the assembly elections. The election results were also not in favor of BJP and it could win only one assembly seat in Tamil Nadu.

What will Annamalai do?
There is every possibility that Annamalai will do politics in Tamil Nadu only and for this he can also form a new party. Now it remains to be seen whether he forms a political party immediately or will have to wait for some more time.
