The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park and is expected to start at 10:30 pm IST. Most of the attention will be on the iPhone 18 Pro series and Apple's first foldable iPhone.
According to reports, this time Apple will not launch the entire iPhone 18 series in September. The company may introduce premium models like iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max first. At the same time, the normal iPhone 18 and the second generation iPhone Air are likely to be postponed till 2027. However, Apple has not yet officially confirmed this information.
The most discussed topic is the foldable iPhone. In reports, it is currently being described as iPhone Ultra. It may come with a design that opens like a book, whose format may be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. It is expected to have an external screen of about 5.3 to 5.5 inches and a large internal OLED screen of 7.6 to 7.8 inches. There is talk of 120Hz ProMotion support in both the displays. Apple can use a new hinge system to make the phone thin and premium. For performance, it is likely to get the new A20 Pro chip. If this happens, the foldable iPhone will be the beginning of a completely new product category for Apple.
Many big upgrades can also be seen in iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The design is expected to not be much different from the existing Pro model, but the Dynamic Island may be smaller. New color options and improvements in the camera system can also be seen. There is talk of 48MP main camera and variable aperture in iPhone 18 Pro Max. A20 Pro chip based on 2nm technology can be given in both the Pro models. This is expected to increase the processing capacity of the phone and also improve power efficiency.
Talking about the price, Apple has not yet released official figures. Reports suggest that the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro will be around $100 more than the previous model. The starting price of iPhone 17 Pro in India was said to be Rs 1,34,900. Whereas the price of foldable iPhone Ultra can be much higher. According to reports, its starting price is estimated to be around $2,000 i.e. around Rs 1.9 lakh or more. In such a situation, the Apple Event of September 9 may prove to be not only the launch of the new iPhone, but also the beginning of the company's foldable era.
