Lucknow. Applications have been invited by the state government for the Vivekananda Youth Award for the financial year 2026-27 to honor the youth who have made significant contributions in the field of nation building and social service. This award will be given to youth of both male and female categories in individual category. Through this, efforts are being made to connect rural youth with the mainstream of development and encourage their active participation in nation building.
Youth who have done excellent work in fields like sports, social forestry, family welfare, small savings, blood donation, de-addiction, water conservation, establishment and operation of library and reading room, organic farming, installation of solar energy plants, cleanliness campaign, national integration, literacy and disaster management can apply for this award. Apart from this, contribution in the fields of voter awareness, health, research, art, culture, literature, protection of human rights, tourism, traditional medicine, community service, active citizenship, sports and educational excellence and smart learning will also form the basis of selection.
Selection will be done on the basis of three years' work
The district level designated committee will examine the applications and achievements and send the proposals of eligible youth to the Directorate General. The award will be based on the work done from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. The age of the youth applying should be between 15 to 35 years. Age will be calculated as of 1st January determined at the time of enrolment.
The youth selected at the state level will be awarded a medal, certificate, statue of Swami Vivekananda and prize money of Rs 50,000.
