Triple murder due to insistence on marriage revealed, main accused Himanshu injured in encounter

Prayagraj. Within just nine hours, the police revealed the triple murder case that took place in Kukarkatwa village of Meja police station area in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh and arrested the main accused Himanshu Yadav and his associates. Police investigation has revealed that due to the ongoing dispute regarding love affair and marriage, the accused had killed three people of his girlfriend’s family.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday morning, the dead bodies of Shyamlal Gupta (60), son of late Gulzar and his fearful Indravati (51) wife, Dudhnath Gupta and Amravati (50) wife of Nebbulal, resident of Kukur Katwa village of Meja police station area, were found bleeding outside the house. The police team that reached the spot took possession of all three bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The police registered a case in this regard on the complaint of deceased’s son-in-law Lokpati and started investigation. The police made the revelation within just nine hours and arrested the accused Himanshu Yadav and his friend. The secret of murder revealed during interrogation

According to the police, Himanshu Yadav wanted to marry his girlfriend Neha, but the girl’s family was against this relationship. Due to this rivalry, Himanshu, along with his friend Gautam, attacked with an iron rod and brutally murdered three people of the girl’s family. After the incident, both the accused had absconded and were preparing to surrender in the court, but before that a joint team of SOG Yamunanagar Zone and local police caught them.

Investigation also revealed that Himanshu and Neha were in a love relationship for a long time. Both of them had left the house a few months ago, although later the matter was calmed down due to the intervention of family and community members. After this the girl was sent to her maternal uncle’s house, while Himanshu returned to Meja from Chhattisgarh in February.

Seeing the already tense situation in the case, the girl’s family had also lodged a complaint on the IGRS portal. Sub Inspector Ram Vilas Singh has been suspended earlier by Police Commissioner Jogendra Singh for not taking effective action on the complaint.

Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Chandra Yadav said that during the search for the accused, there was an encounter between the police and the miscreants, in which the main accused Himanshu Yadav was shot in the leg. The injured accused has been sent to the hospital for treatment. He said that Himanshu Yadav’s brother, one of his friends and a village head have also been arrested in this case. Police are interrogating all the accused and efforts are on to recover the weapon used in the murder.

DCP said that the police is investigating the call detail record (CDR) and other technical evidence. It is also being investigated whether any other person was involved in the murder conspiracy or not. Many suspects are being detained and interrogated.

On the other hand, there is huge anger among the relatives of the deceased and the villagers after the incident. He has demanded strict legal action against the accused and hearing of the case in fast track court. Police officials say that after collecting all the evidence, strong and effective action will be taken against the accused.
