Sonam Wangchuk’s sugar level decreased on the third day of hunger strike at Tar-Mantar.

New Delhi. The ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on issues related to education and examination system, transparency in the examination process, environmental protection and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reached its 11th day on Tuesday.

As part of this demonstration, today is the third day of the hunger strike of environmental activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchung. According to people associated with the movement, due to continuous fasting his blood sugar level has come down to 66, which is below the normal level. In view of this, the concern of his supporters and doctors regarding his health has increased.

Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Deepke told that Sonam Wangchuk has been on hunger strike for the last three days with only water and salt. Doctors are checking his health regularly. In the test conducted on Tuesday, his sugar level was recorded at 66. Doctors are constantly monitoring his pulse, blood pressure and other important health indicators. He told that if the health deteriorates further then the situation can become serious.

CJP’s protest continues for the 11th day
This ongoing movement at Jantar Mantar continues for the 11th consecutive day. Since morning, a large number of students, teachers, youth, social workers and people from various organizations reached the protest site. The protesters peacefully raised slogans in support of their demands and appealed to the government to take concrete steps to improve the education system. Cockroach Janata Party organization says that this movement is not being done for any one person but for the issues related to the future of the students, youth and future generations of the entire country. Therefore, people are being continuously appealed to join and support the movement.

Demands are being raised regarding education and environment
The agitators are demanding improvement in the education system, making the examination system transparent, strict action on incidents like paper leaks, ensuring honesty and accountability in government recruitments. Along with this, issues like environmental protection and climate change are also being raised prominently. People associated with the movement say that both good education and safe environment are necessary for the development of the country. People say that if serious steps are not taken on these issues in time, then both the youth and the society may have to suffer losses in the future.

Every day people from different states are reaching the protest site to show their support. Many student organizations, social workers and common citizens are also joining the movement. Some people are observing a symbolic fast of one day, while some protesters have been on strike for several days. The protesters say that the increasing support of the people shows that issues like education and environment have become a matter of concern for the entire country. He said that until the government does not seriously consider these demands, the agitation will continue.
