Mumbai Two people drowned in the river during the immersion of Gauri-Ganpati last night in Mabhale area of Sangameshwar tehsil of Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. One of them was saved while the other died. The team of Sangameshwar Police Station is investigating this incident.
The police officer investigating this incident said today that Gauri-Ganpati was being immersed in the river located in Mabhale area on Saturday. Purushottam Ghadashi and his son Prajwal Ghadashi entered the river late Saturday evening to immerse Gauri-Ganpati. Due to monsoon the flow of water in the river was fast. Due to not knowing the depth and flow of water, both of them suddenly started drowning.
Seeing the father and son drowning in the water, the villagers present on the spot immediately started rescue operations and entered the river and pulled out Purushottam Ghadashi safely. After this, the local youth conducted a search operation in the river and also pulled Prajwal out of the water. Efforts were made to provide immediate medical aid to Prajwal, but he could not be saved. He died in this accident. This incident is being investigated.
