Quetta. Two Baloch armed groups in Balochistan have claimed attacks on electricity infrastructure and Pakistani army convoys.
A group has claimed the death of four soldiers in an ambush on an army convoy in Kutchhi district. These claims could not be independently verified.
According to Balochistan’s online news network ‘The Balochistan Post’, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) on Friday claimed that its fighters blew up two main towers of the power transmission line in Katpar area of Sibi with explosives. Two other towers were also badly damaged in the attack.
According to the organization’s spokesperson Dostain Baloch, it also claimed an attack on a Pakistani Army convoy near Sunny in Kutchhi district on Thursday evening.
The spokesman said fighters targeted a vehicle with heavy and automatic weapons, killing or wounding several soldiers. However, the organization did not give the number of casualties.
Meanwhile, the United Baloch Army (UBA) also claimed to have attacked a convoy of three army vehicles in Sunny Chighardi area of Kutch.
According to the organisation, the attack was carried out around 11:30 am on Thursday, in which four soldiers were killed and several others were seriously injured.
UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch claimed that the army convoy was part of a military operation being conducted in the area. According to him, there was an encounter between the two sides for about 90 minutes, after which the fighters of the organization withdrew from the place.
Both organizations have demanded independence of Balochistan and said they will continue their armed operations. However, his claims could not be independently verified.
