Bike Recall: Recall of 96 units of Honda Rebel 500, know the reason

Bike Recall: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall campaign for 96 units of its premium cruiser bike Honda Rebel 500 in India. This recall being done in India is part of the company’s global recall campaign. The company said that this problem is related to the steering of the bike, hence the affected motorcycles will be examined and necessary parts will be replaced.

Possible problem found in handle-lock screw
According to the company, there is a possibility that the handle-lock fixing screw of the bike may not have been tightened properly as per the prescribed torque during assembly. In such a situation, the screw may become loose over time, which is likely to affect the steering movement of the motorcycle.

However, Honda has clarified that till September 30, 2026, no accident or incident related to this problem has been reported in India.

Bikes made between April to August 2025 are affected
This recall is applicable only to 96 Honda Rebel 500 units manufactured between April 2025 and August 2025.

As a precautionary measure, Honda will replace the handle-lock fixing screw in the affected bikes free of charge at its authorized service centres. Customers will not be charged for this, regardless of the warranty status of the bike.

Recall campaign will start from November 2026
