India batter Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the ongoing Hundred competition due to injury, her franchise Southern Brave announced on Saturday.
Reports stated that the 25-year-old suffered a hamstring injury while playing in England. She has been replaced by all-rounder Charlie Knott in the squad.
The Indian middle-order batter has scored 143 runs in six innings for the Brave at an average of 35.75 and strike rate of 131.19.
The Women’s T20 Asia Cup is set to begin on August 28 with Hong Kong taking on Thailand. India will get its campaign underway on August 30 against the latter.
Rodrigues has just under a month to recover from the hamstring issue if she hopes to take part in the continental competition
Yastika Bhatia and Pratika Rawal might be set for a recall to the 20-over squad if the Mumbai cricketer is not fit in time.
