Automobile Desk. Ather Energy has taken a new step amid the increasing demand for electric two-wheelers in the Indian automobile market. The company has launched its new family-oriented electric scooter 'Ather Konarc' in the market. Introduced with a starting price of ₹99,999, the scooter is the first production model based on Ather's new next-generation EL platform.
In terms of design, Ather Konark looks slightly different from the company's old 450 Series. Along with the sporty look, special care has been taken of the needs of the family. At the front of the scooter, LED headlamps, glossy black cowl and attractive U-shaped LED DRLs are provided inside the handlebar. To comfortably seat two people, it has a wide single-piece seat, silver pillion grab rail and back support. Apart from this, to make daily use easier, a flat floorboard, front storage and a touchscreen instrument console have been provided, which supports smartphone connectivity.
The most interesting feature 'Airwalk' has been included in this scooter. It is often seen that moving heavy electric scooters back and forth by hand in tight parking or sloping places is quite a tedious task. The AirWalk feature allows the scooter to move forward and backward at slow speeds with the help of an electric motor, making it much easier to handle while parking.
Talking about power and performance, the company's new 'Bedrock' battery system has been given in it. This scooter will be available in two main variants – S Line and Z Line. According to the company's claims, the IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of its top variant S Line is up to 200 kilometers, while the base variant is capable of providing a range of up to 100 kilometers. However, actual road mileage will depend on traffic, weather and rider driving style. In terms of speed, the S Line variant can give a top speed of 70 km per hour and the Z Line variant can give a top speed of 80 km per hour.
Let us tell you, for the charging setup, Ather has provided a 450W built-in charger, so that it can be charged from any normal power socket in the house. Thanks to the new platform, its total onboard charging capacity goes up to around 900W. The company claims that its battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 2 hours.
In the Indian market, it will compete directly with established scooters like TVS iQube, Ola S1 series, Bajaj Chetak and Vida. For those customers who are waiting for this scooter, after booking, its delivery will start from 21 September 2026.
