Guwahati: Barak Legends defeated Guwahati Royals by three wickets under the VJD method in the rain-affected seventh match of the Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League played at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing the target of 118 runs in 19 overs revised due to rain, Barak Legends achieved the target by losing seven wickets.
Skipper Sibsankar Roy scored 36 runs and Sourav Dey scored 29 runs while Harsh Kumar and Bhargav Pratim remained unbeaten to guide the team to victory.
Earlier, batting first, Guwahati Royals recovered from the initial setbacks and scored 126 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.
Nibir Deka made 47, Rishav Das 30, and Gunjan Jyoti Deka 22. For Baraka Legends, Mohit Thakur took 3/12 and Abdul Aziz Qureshi 2/16.
For Guwahati Royals, Deepak Gohain took 3/11 and Mrinmoy Dutta took two wickets, but their efforts could not save the team from defeat.
