As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich are set to initiate contract talks with Michael Olise, with the Frenchman keen to have a release clause inserted into any potential new deal.
Bayern Munich are planning to open contract talks with Michael Olise over a new deal until 2032 soon, according to Bild.
The Bavarians are making progress in their bid to tie down star striker Harry Kane beyond the end of the season, but are expecting much tougher negotiations with the Frenchman.
So far, there has been no indication from Olise or his agent, Glen Tweneboah, as to whether the player is open to extending his deal beyond 2029 following a summer that saw him linked with European heavyweights such as Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Bayern are said to be prepared to make Olise one of the club’s top earners, alongside Kane and Jamal Musiala, as they look to convince him to commit his future to the club.
However, they will most likely have to make a significant further concession to get a deal over the line, with sources close to Olise indicating that the Frenchman and his representatives would insist on a release clause in any new contract.
A release clause exceeding €200 million would be considered realistic for the 24-year-old, who has a market value of €170 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Olise has scored eight goals and provided four assists in seven games for Bayern so far this season.
