Big action by Delhi Police on CJP movement, leave of all policemen canceled till further orders.

New Delhi: Amidst the long protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over the NEET exam leak issue, Delhi Police has adopted a tough stance to tighten security arrangements in the national capital. Police Headquarters has issued an immediate order canceling the leave of all ranks of policemen till further instructions.

Students’ protest continues

Protests by students have been going on in the capital for more than a month, in which violent clashes have been seen continuously since Monday. In view of this tussle between the agitators and the security forces, the police administration fears that under the guise of the student movement, some unruly elements are trying to spoil the atmosphere.

Orders to report back to duty

Under the new guidelines, officers and employees who are on leave have also been ordered to report back to duty immediately. Now leave will be granted only in special emergency circumstances with the permission of higher authorities. Delhi Police is keeping a close watch on the situation by deploying additional forces in sensitive areas and around Jantar Mantar, so that law and order can be maintained in the capital.

Why were the employees’ holidays cancelled?

The ongoing protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in the national capital against rigging in the NEET examination has now reached a turning point on the administrative and political front. Keeping in mind the deteriorating law and order, while Delhi Police has canceled the leaves of its personnel, on the other hand, a blueprint has been prepared for the second round of formal talks between the Central Government and the CJP to end the deadlock.

Delhi Police canceled all holidays

In view of the tension and security concerns at the protest sites, Delhi Police Headquarters has issued strict instructions.

• Scope of order: This decision has been applied equally to all ranks of policemen, from constables to senior officers.
• Holidays cancelled: Regular, normal and earned leaves have been suspended with immediate effect.
• Return to duty: The policemen who were already on leave, their leaves have been canceled and instructions have been given to them to report immediately to their respective police stations and units.
• Emergency Exemption: Leave will be granted only in case of bona fide emergency with prior approval of the competent authorities (such as DCoP).

Second round of talks in Constitution Club today

Amidst the growing agitation, the Central Government has scheduled a meeting with CJP representatives at the Constitution Club of India (CCI) in Delhi at 12:30 pm. Earlier, the first round of talks held on Monday remained inconclusive. CJP has made it clear that their protest at Jantar Mantar will not end until the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This demand has the support of the entire opposition including Congress.

Opposition and organizations adamant on resignation

It has been assured that strict legislative provisions will be implemented to stop paper leaks. It has been agreed to provide appropriate financial assistance to the families of the candidates who committed suicide due to examination irregularities. An assurance has been given to drop the cases registered against the students who were protesting peacefully. Despite this, the protesters are adamant on demanding only the resignation of the Union Minister while fixing moral accountability.
