Big action in Chauparan: Three smugglers arrested with 1.550 kg opium, Rs 7 lakh cash and Bolero.

Hazaribagh Police, achieving a major success against the drug trade, conducted a raid in Chauparan police station area and recovered about 1.550 kg of opium, Rs 7 lakh in cash, a Bolero vehicle and an Apache motorcycle. In this action, the police arrested three smugglers, while one accused managed to escape from the spot. The police have registered an FIR in the matter under the NDPS Act and started further action.

Police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar also played an important role in this major action taken in Chauparan police station area. It was because of the promptness, understanding and quick action of Chauparan police station that the police achieved such great success. Police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar said that the campaign against illegal drug trade in the area will continue and strict legal action will be taken against those involved in such trade.

Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police had received secret information that some opium smugglers from Barhi were going to come to Chauparan area to buy and sell opium. Considering the seriousness of the information, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (CCR). The team conducted a vehicle checking campaign near Chatra Mor in Chauparan police station area.

During investigation, an attempt was made to stop a white Bolero coming from Barhi. Seeing the police, the driver of the vehicle tried to run away, but the police team showed promptness and caught the two people traveling in the vehicle. During the search, Rs 7 lakh in cash was recovered from under the seat of the Bolero.

During interrogation, the arrested persons told that they were going to Ahri village of Chauparan police station area to buy opium. After this, the police conducted a raid in Ahri village on his behest, where 1.550 kg of opium kept in separate plastic packets was recovered from the house of Rahul Kumar Kharwar. Rahul Kumar Kharwar was arrested from the spot, while the alleged supplier Arvind Kumar escaped after dodging the police.

Police have identified the arrested accused as Puna Ram, resident of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Ramlal, resident of Balotra, Rajasthan and Rahul Kumar Kherwar, resident of Ahri, Chauparan. Chauparan police station case number 157/26 has been registered against all three and the process of sending them to judicial custody under various sections of the NDPS Act has been started.

In this action, the police have seized 1.550 kg of opium, Rs 7 lakh in cash, a white Bolero, an Apache motorcycle and two mobile phones. Appreciating the promptness and professional working style of the raiding team, the Superintendent of Police said that the campaign against illegal drug trade in the district will continue in the future.

For this action, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (CCR) Armaanul Haq. The team included Chauparan police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar, police sub-inspector Subendra Ram, police sub-inspector Shravan Kumar Paswan, Badal Kumar Mahato and armed forces personnel of Chauparan police station.
