Patna. Permanent centers equipped with modern facilities will soon be prepared for competitive and board examinations in Bihar. Bihar School Examination Board has approved the plan to build multipurpose examination buildings-cum-Vajragriha in 29 districts of the state. Administrative approval of Rs 330 crore 7 lakh 13 thousand has been given for this project.
New buildings will be four storeys
Under the scheme, buildings with G+3 structure will be built at a total of 29 places in 27 districts. About one to one and a half acre land has been marked for this. Two buildings each are proposed in Madhubani and Samastipur. After technical approval, the responsibility of construction will be given to the building construction department.
Dependence on schools and colleges will reduce
Presently schools and colleges are made examination centers for many competitive examinations. Due to this, the schedule of regular studies and internal examinations gets affected. After the new centers are ready, the dependence on educational institutions for such examinations will reduce and will help in maintaining the smooth education of the students.
Capacity of 4 thousand candidates simultaneously
The proposed buildings will have seating arrangements for about 4,000 candidates. Facilities like CCTV surveillance, safe storage of answer sheets, evaluation, barcoding and scanning will be provided here. This means that many processes related to the examination can be completed in the same premises.
Strong room and security facilities also
There will be arrangements to keep the confidential material of the examination safe in Vajragriha. If needed, sensitive material related to elections can also be kept here. The buildings will also have security features like 24-hour CCTV surveillance, fire alarm and fire fighting system.
